KRD Training has been providing high quality CPD Training  and Supervision to counsellors, therapists, mental health practitioners and organisations for over 20 years. All the CPD training is facilitated by Kate Day and specialist consultants.

Kate Day - Director

Fellow NCS, Snr Acc Reg, BA Hons, Ad Dip Int Couns, PG Child and Adolescents, PG Group Analysis, Ad Dip Clinical Supervision PSA Registered.

Kate is the Managing Director of KRD Training which specialises in the training of Therapeutic, Educational and Caring professionals in Child and Adolescent Counselling and Mental Health. She has designed and delivered specialised professional training for over 17 years. Kate has extensive experience as a Senior Lecturer, Supervisor, and Examiner on Accredited and Advanced Counselling and Psychotherapy Diplomas and Post Graduate programmes.

Therapeutically, Kate has over 20 years experience of working with children, adults and families. She runs a busy working practice as a clinical supervisor and a therapist.  Kate is a fellow of the National Counselling Society (PSA REG) and sits on their Professional Standards Committee. Kate was recently honoured with the National Counselling Society’s highest award, The Elizabeth McElligott Award, for ‘a significant and lasting contribution to the Societies or to the profession in general’.

In her work as a lobbyist  and a Childrens’ Ambassadors,  Kate is a dedicated voice and sworn campaigner for Children and Mental Health. Her aim being to encourage policy makers to always put children at the hear of decision making. She advocates this in her work as a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group On A Fit and Healthy Childhood and when consulting in the private and public sector. Kate is a founding member of the The Child First Campaign.

Kate has also successfully developed and implemented outstanding therapeutic programmes to support vulnerable children, young people and their families across many primary schools, secondary schools and in charities.

CONSULTANTS

Luan Knott

BA Hons, Adv Dip Counselling, Diploma in Supervision, MNCS Senior Accredited.

With over 15 years experience as Senior Lead Counsellor in various Devon secondary schools, and within her thriving private practice, Luan has proven her dedication to, enthusiasm for and wealth of experience in working with young people. Luan also works counselling adults with complex mental health needs, within the NHS for the Devon Primary Care Counselling, specialising in Interpersonal Psychotherapy. She is also a qualified supervisor.

Lynn Spencer

CQSW, European Diploma in therapeutic Counselling; Advance Diploma in Integrative Counselling, MNCS Accredited

Lynn has been a qualified Social Worker for  over 30 years and a qualified Counsellor for over 20 years. As well as her private practice Lynn has 25 years experience of working for the Ministry of Defence, working with military personnel and their families.

Linda Owens

MA/Dip.Social Work, Diploma in Counselling, Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision, MNCS Accredited. Registered social worker with Social Work England. Member of ABSCo (Association of Bereavement Service Coordinators)

Linda has worked with people experiencing change, loss and grief for over 20 years, initially as a social worker, and then as a counsellor. Her practice has been honed in the specialist world of hospice care, in working generically with military personnel and in private practice. For the last 5 years Linda has been managing the Bereavement Service in a leading South West Hospice, recruiting, training and supervising a skilled team of volunteer practitioners delivering 1 to 1 emotional support.

Lisa Robillard-Webb Consultant for KRD Training

Lisa Robillard-Webb

BA (hons), Post Graduate Diploma (CIPD), NLP Practitioner

Lisa has a professional background in Human Resource Management and Leadership Training. She has worked in both the public and private sectors providing consultancy services for management and leadership initiatives. Lisa is passionate about Children and Young People’s issues, especially Mental Health and delivers high quality projects in this and other sectors. Lisa is the Chair of a Community Interest Company and is involved in a number of local community projects.

Catharine Langran

BSC (Hons) Psychology, Adv Dip Integrative counselling, Dip. Children and Young People, Dip. Supervision, MNCS Senior Accredited

Catharine has worked with Children and Young People in many roles and qualified as an integrative counsellor in 2010. She specialises in counselling for children and young people and working with loss and bereavement. Catherine also has a busy supervisory practice.

Catharine has many years of experience working in primary and secondary schools in Devon and also works as a therapist and mentor with a local bereavement charity called Children and Families in Grief.

Catherine also has a private practice and works for the NHS Emotional Support Scheme providing counselling for carers.

Charlotte Randall

BSC (Hons), Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, PGCE Secondary Education, MA Advanced Educational Practice, ILM Level 7 Coaching and Mentoring, MNCS Accredited

Charlotte has a combined 23 years experience of working in the fields of education, coaching and counselling. Through her practice, postgraduate studies and contribution to research, she has become highly knowledgeable in the fields of education and mental health.

She is internationally recognised for her ability to influence sustainable professional learning and coaching in the Middle East and played an integral role in launching the sustainable development programme for several Middle East British Curriculum schools.

Charlotte’s career has taken her from working in secondary schools globally, a secure children’s unit in Devon, to running a successful private counselling practice where she specialises in, and has a passion for, working with teenagers and young adults.

Rike Jones

European Diploma in Social Pedagogics, MNCS Sen. Accred.

Since the beginning of her career in 2008, Rike has focused her practise on children and young people, aged 11 to 25. She first worked in the voluntary sector with missing, sexually exploited and trafficked children, teens and tweens and now holds a position as school based counsellor in a secondary school in Guildford.

Rike has experience in one-to-one and tailored group work with children and young people, as well as parents’ and teacher workshops on children’s mental health.

Sarah Lord

BA Hons, PGCE, Ad Dip Counselling (NCS Accredited)

Sarah is a counsellor for children and young people with over 20 years’ experience in the education sector as a SENDCo, teacher, school leader and safeguarding lead. Sarah brings together her counselling and education experience to ensure children and young people, particularly those with SEND, receive the best possible blend of therapeutic, educational and health support to develop and thrive.
Sarah contributed to the National Counselling Society’s CYP Competency Framework by writing the section on working with Special Educational Needs and SEND; she has also contributed to a report for the Children’s Alliance on the Mental Health of Children and Young People which was launched in parliament in September 2022.
In addition, Sarah teaches a level 4 diploma in Integrative Counselling and carries out Early Help work with families for Devon County Council.

Fiona Drummond

BA (hons) Fine Art, Adv Dip Integrative counselling, Specialist Dip Psychotherapy,
Adv Dip Sandplay therapy, Dip Emotional literacy for children.

Fiona is an integrative counsellor working with children, adults and SEND clients. Alongside talking therapy Fiona uses Sandplay therapy, this way of practising moves clients to another level in a deep subconscious way. The sensory nature of engaging with the sand, exploring feelings in a tactile way unlocks deep-seated emotions, the connection to the physical world helps process emotion in a ‘body felt sense’.

She also works therapeutically with a variety of art methods, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and collage with clients ranging from young children to older adults.

Fiona has a wide range of experience working with children with SEND from early years to young people along with their parents and families. She has held various roles, in multiple settings working with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), physical impairment and complex medical needs. She has also worked with different age groups in both mainstream and special needs schools.

Sara Yorke

Sara has worked in private practice as a Counsellor, Coach and N.L.P. practitioner for over 15 years.

Prior to that she managed global Relationship Marketing and Training programs for international IT organisations.

She is passionate about enabling emotional wellbeing for everyone, through the use of personal counselling, coaching and workshops. She utilises her specialist combined training, to help people to address both their mental health challenges and to align their life with reaching their goals.

In her coaching work she supports people using an integrative approach. Whatever their challenges, she works with clients to support them to overcome their obstacles, and to help them become unstuck. Enabling them to reconnect them with their vision for their best life.

She has worked with people of all ages. She has additional training and experience working with client issues related to childhood attachment, trauma/loss, boarding school survivors, fertility, parenting and menopause.

Her previous business background and training, means that she often helps clients looking to identify and manage their broader work challenges and ambitions.

As both a counsellor and a coach, she is able to bring a unique and personally tailored approach to support clients’ needs and help them to achieve their goals.
